Magnum - Creative Portfolio Template
Sometimes the kind of stuff you can get here for just over 10 bucks really surprises me. Great work! This theme is absolutely incredible, super-versatile and employs all the best practices I know of. Really love it and will be deploying it for my film production business soon.

I’m getting this error on my site:
ReplyDeleteNotice: Undefined offset: 0 in include() (line 41 of /srv/bindings/10e1db0b4cb943968d23cb4a4ec97c77/code/sites/all/themes/md_magnum/template/views/about_me/views-view-fields—about-me.tpl.php).
What should I do?
The site is on Pantheon.
Hello, please contact the support staff of Pantheon as this is an error that has to do with their services. Best regards
ReplyDeleteThis is the response from Pantheon:
ReplyDeleteI’m a Customer Success Engineer here at Pantheon, I’ll attempt to guide you to the best possible solution!
That’s a basic PHP error, and it’s concerning that the module/theme maintainer(s) are implying this is a platform / hosting issue.
Setting expectations here, this very likely a Drupal code / configuration level issue, that’ll need to be debugged on your end, however I can recommend some resources:
http://drupal.stackexchange.com/
Theme documentation / maintainers
You’ll need to follow up with the theme developer; hopefully they can fix the theme & provide you with an update.
Feel free to reply & reopen if you have any further questions!
Best regards
Thank you for your reply. I didn’t noticed that you’re using the Drupal version of Magnum. Please ask the author of the Magnum Drupal theme for further support, since I can only help you with the Magnum HTML template. Best regards.
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteI purchased this template today, I thought I had purchased a WordPress template but I’m having the issue “missing the style.css stylesheet” like a lot of other people. Any advice?
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your interest in Magnum. Yes, this is an HTML template, so it isn’t usable in WordPress. The WordPress theme can be found here.
All the best,
PixelStuff
Hello, great theme
ReplyDeleteJust had a question – I’ve noticed that when viewing the “Business” demo on an iPad, the “Watch Video” button in the first feature section (the full-screen, semi-chromeless video) isn’t there.
Is there a reason for this?
http://demo.pixelstuff.net/magnum/business.html
Ideally it would be great to be able to play these videos on iPads/tablets – I found it weird that this great feature is either hidden or switched off for everything except desktops and certain responsive breakpoints.
Thanks for your help.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteThank you for getting in touch. The background video isn’t visible due to restrictions of the plugin and the YouTube API. You can however create a popup (containing a video) that becomes visible on mobile devices.
Best regards.
Sorry, another question:
ReplyDeleteThe user controlled, full-screen background video used for the “Business” demo – is there an option to have it play in correct ratio (say 16:9) for mobile devices?
The video pieces I will be using in this space will most likely have text and logos – I need to find a way to show these videos so that they aren’t simply cropped left and right for the skinny mobile viewport.
Thanks again for your help.
See also my answer above. If you create a link to a popup (a solution for mobile devices) that contains a video, the video will display just as you can see in the portfolio grid. (See the image with the little bike.)
ReplyDeleteFor what it’s worth: You can set the ratio of the background video (desktop) as well, however, if someone is viewing the website with a viewport ratio of 4:3, the 16:9 video will display empty spaces above and below the video.
Best regards.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am interested in buying this theme for my portfolio website,however I am not familiar with HTML. Is there any installation guide provided or person who can help me set up all together?
Thanks!
AMB
Hello and thank you for your interest in Magnum. There is a documentation file included where you can find basic instructions to set up your site. If however you need more tutorials, my advice would be to visit W3 Schools.
ReplyDeleteYou can however also consider to buy the WordPress version or the Drupal version of Magnum. These are content management system (CMS) themes where you don’t need coding skills.
If you rather want to purchase the HTML template and need some help to set everything up, you could consider hiring a freelancer via Envato Studio. Here you’ll find freelancers with the services they’re providing and the prices they’re charging.
Thanks again and all the best!

Hi after adding the youtube link, my videos dont play. Upon checking on firebug i get the following error:
ReplyDeleteTypeError: YTPlayer.player is undefined
YTPlayer.player.playVideo();
(In jquery.ytplayer.js )
This happening for both index and index2 file!
Thanks in advance
Hi, thank you for getting in touch. Please make sure to check the following: 1. The site needs to be online in order for the video’s to work. 2. Make sure to check the link in the index.html (and the index2.html) files. They have to be alike and as clean as possible. You can also copy the example URL from one of the files and replace the code at the end of the URL with the specific code of your video. (The part after ‘watch?v=’.)
ReplyDeleteIf you’re still having issues after this, please send me a link (via the contact form or e-mailaddress that is listed in the documentation) to your website (or work in progress).
Thanks!
Where can I find the documentation for this theme options/settings?
ReplyDeleteThx
Never mind. I found it in a separate folder
ReplyDeleteGreat, have fun with it!
ReplyDeletehi
ReplyDeletei have purchased the html theme from a bundle…
now i need it and it works very well, but only one thing i dont know why:
the link-building in the menu “main-menu fixedmenu”
so as sample you change
Contact
to
Contact
i show the link on hover but if i click on it nothing happens.
what am i doing wrong?
thanks for your help
ohh the system hides the html tags so here again:
ReplyDeleteyour contact-link:
a href=”#contact” class=”smoothscroll”
to
a href=”http: demo.pixelstuff. net/ magnum/ business.html” class=”smoothscroll” >Contact>
Hi! Thanks for getting in touch. Please remove the class=”smoothscroll” part and the link to another page will work. The ‘smootscroll’ class is only needed when you want the link to point towards another area/ID on the same page.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Please, how do I set the image slider on top (that one with the arrows) to automatic?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Thank you for your message. For index8.html, open the index8.js file in the js folder. Now remove the ’//’ part before the ‘play: 6000,’ to create a slider that plays automatically. 6000 means a 6 second interval between each slide. You can also set this to 4000 for example.
ReplyDeleteFor index11.html, open the index11.js file in the js folder. Change ‘auto: false,’ to ‘auto: true,’. You can also add a new line of code below this to create an interval between each slide. By default this is 4 seconds. Add ‘pause: 6000,’ for example to create an interval of 6 seconds. You can delete the ’’ symbols in the js file, but make sure to add a , after a new line of code.
Bye!
hi..i wanna buy your template..only some questions…on index with video..can i add menu on top page?no after video…when u add section team on html version ? thanks great work
ReplyDeleteHi and thank you for your interest in the Magnum template. Yes, you can add the menu on top of the page. You can change the ‘fixedmenu’ to ‘alreadyfixed’ around line 156 of the index.html file.
ReplyDeleteYou can copy the team section from the business.html file and paste it into the index.html file. If you need help with this, please let me know and I’ll send you further instructions.
Thanks!
Pre-purchase question about the background video…I have seen in other comments that it wont work on iphones/ipads with YouTube. Can we insert a Vimeo link without modifying the code? Have you tried this and do you know if it works?
ReplyDeleteI will only purchase this template if there is a way to have the background video on all devices without the need for a popup.
Thank you for your interest. Enfortunately it isn’t possible to display a background video on all devices. Also, the background video is only working with YouTube video’s.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to change the stacking order of the columns in a row? For example, in a 3 column row I want the left column to appear at the bottom of the stacked columns when collapsed.
ReplyDeleteThx
Yes, it’s possible with some extra codes, see the example here. In the HTML file, add the columns with your content in the stacked order. Add the classname ‘move-to-right’ to the column divs that should appear before the first column when they aren’t stacked. See the source code of the example HTML file including the extra lines of CSS.
ReplyDeleteDon’t hesitate to ask if you need further assistance.
I am having this issue Cannot read property ‘playVideo’ of undefined only on chrome on Firefox and IE the video is working fine,
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDelete- The website should be live in order to view the video
- Make sure the URL of the video is correct
- Please validate your website via the W3 Validator
If the above hints don’t provide a solution, please send the URL of your website so I can take a look at it.
Best regards
It works on firefox and IE but not on chrome www.chacalpromotions.com check it out
ReplyDeleteThe video is working on Chrome on my computer. Do you have any addons installed at Chrome? Are you logged in to a specific service (for example Gmail) at Chrome? You could try to clear the browser cache and cookies and try again.
ReplyDeleteThis might work: go to settings in Chrome, scroll down to advanced and deselect use hardware acceleration when available.
ReplyDeleteSee also these instructions.
Can someone take a look at my blog link. I have contacted my webhost and they cannot seem to get the blog working either.
ReplyDeleteHello, I assume you have installed the WordPress version of Magnum. If that’s the case, you can go to the Magnum support forum and submit your question there.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I’m using index3 as my main theme. The Background Youtube Video will not play in Safari. It will play in Chrome and other browsers … but not Safari. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteIt might have something to do with the flash player for Safari, see also: this discussion on Apple.com
There are some hints in the topic mentioned above. Clearing your cache for example could be a small step that solves this issue. Or if you’re using any specific addons for the browser, switching them off could solve it.
While I don’t think it would solve the issue, you could try test the website with another video (another YouTube link).
Since the video is working in other browsers, it’s most likely a Safari issue. Enfortunately I’m not able to solve these kind of browser issues.
Best regards,
PixelStuff
I bought the Word Press magnum theme, but the menu is not functioning correctly. I clicked “Import Demo Content” and I have not changed anything, but the menu buttons are not scrolling. Instead of scrolling to the appropriate part of the page, clicking a button on the menu redirects me to that page. This is not what I want. I want my website to work like your live demo which scrolls to correct part of the page. How do I get the menu to work correctly?
ReplyDelete—-Sorry, I just realized I posted this on the HTML5 product instead of the WP product
Only the home button scrolls to the top. The rest go to different pages. How do I fix this? I’ve gone over the documentation, and I haven’t figured it out.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have the latest version of WordPress – version 4.6.1
ReplyDeleteHello and thank you for your messages. Please head over to the support forums and submit your message: http://support.pixelentity.com/forums/47-Magnum-WordPress-Theme
ReplyDeleteThank you and all the best
So far my website looks awesome, but I have one glaring issue. I figured out how to use videos both youtube and vimeo and have followed the directions well.
ReplyDeleteBut I still cant get the video to work on the full screen home page. I have tried different videos and double checked the links. It will not play, it just gives me a black background.

Any ideas?
Hi Hunter,
ReplyDeleteThank you for message. The bitfade crew, author of the WordPress version of Magnum, will probably soon answer your question. (Please note that I can only answer questions regarding the HTML template.)
If you don’t hear from them soon, please submit your question on their support forum, see: http://support.pixelentity.com/forums/47-Magnum-WordPress-Theme
Thanks!
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteReally nice theme, great work. I’m using index8.html, but really would like the nav bar to be already visible on the homepage. Ideally I’d like the nav bar right at the bottom of the slider, and then when you scroll down and it hits the top, it sticks (like it’s already doing).
Is this possible? Thank you.
Hi!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your message. Here’s how to display the nav bar on the bottom of the homepage and keep the ‘sticky’ effect once you scroll down:
1. Create a custom.css file and paste the following css styles in it:
/* Custom settings */
.custom-home {
margin-bottom: -70px;
}
.custom-home .slides-pagination {
bottom: 85px;
}
@media only screen and (max-width: 768px){
.custom-home {
margin-bottom: -50px;
}
.custom-home .slides-pagination {
bottom: 65px;
}
}
2. Open the HTML file you’re using (probably index.html) and paste the following below the ‘call’ for the main stylesheet in the head section:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/custom.css">
Meaning that the custom styles will be loaded after the main stylesheet:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/custom.css">
You can also copy the custom CSS styles and paste them at the bottom in the style.css file. Keep in mind though that you’ll need to update this file (with the custom CSS styles) whenever you’re updating the Magnum file, once there will be an update.
3. The final thing we need to do is to make sure that the custom styles are attached to the home area in the HTML file. Open the index.html file (again) and look for the following codes:
<div id="home" class="home-wrap">
Simply add the ‘custom-home’ class to it like this:
<div id="home" class="home-wrap custom-home">
Save the file and test it in your browser. Upload the new and/or updated files to your server and you’re all set.
Hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please let me know.
Cheers!
