Recital - Portfolio & Blog WordPress Theme for Creatives
The Recital theme is an original choice for showcasing artwork and illustrations with style and balance.
The Recital theme by StrictThemes is primarily suited as a portfolio theme for creators. A modern, flat design with a focus on images makes Recital a great option for anyone looking to showcase their work. A fully responsive design with plenty of white space gives images and text room to breathe, creating a positive user experience on mobile and desktop devices.
Recital uses subtle flourishes like image rollover animations and stylized icons and toggles to set itself apart from basic portfolio themes. These details don’t overwhelm visitors and create a cohesive and engaging experience. A perfect combination of simplicity and detail make Recital an excellent choice for a portfolio or image-oriented blog site, ideal for showcasing artwork or photography. This theme is a great choice for a personal or professional portfolio.

Hi. I love this theme, so easy to edit! I juste ran into a little problem… in my blog page, I checked “Do not show title” but it does not work, the title is still showing. I tried to delete and create another blog page (choosing the blog template), but it does not solve the problem. Do you have a solution? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your feedback.
I’ve checked on Live Preview it works fine in the blogroll – http://dl3.joxi.net/drive/0012/0377/807289/160204/76a2260b3a.jpg
Please let me know which title do you mean. Let me screenshot of that title.
Regards,
Nat
Thanks for the answer. I’m talking about the title that writes “Blog (some thoughts)”, I’d like to have it removed.
ReplyDeleteIt’s not the title of the Post, but the title of the whole blog Page.
Also, I would like to know if it’s possible to have the item of the submenu written in lower case instead of upper case ?
Hi,
ReplyDelete1 – You can drop this line on Theme Panel > Style > Custom CSS:
.page-template-template-blog #term { display: none; }
2 – For submenu lowercase – drop next line on Theme Panel > Style > Custom CSS:
ul.menu ul li a { text-transform: none; }
Regards,
Nat
I think your theme, Recital, looks perfect for my needs but I just need to be sure that a fullwidth page template is available?
ReplyDeleteMany thanks in anticipation of your help.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your interest.
Yes, fullwidth page template comes with the theme. This is example – http://strictthemes.com/recital/shortcodes/typography/
Regards,
Nat
When this theme is viewed on an iPad, the pictures on the homepage require two clicks to go through to their page. The first click reveals the post name, the second click goes through to the page. Is there a way to make the first click go straight to the page?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteIt’s default behavior for touch screen devices. Your idea is possible trough a custom work and additional functionality only.
Regards,
Nat
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteMy website is http://www.pamcoffey.com/.
In the right sidebar, I would like to display a list of Projects categories (st_category). How do I do this? Right now, it shows no categories, but I think that is because it is looking for ‘post’ categories, not Project categories.
Thanks in advance,
Rheagan
Hi,
ReplyDeleteCreate a new menu based on portfolio categories – http://c2n.me/3C9W7BJ.jpg – and display it on any sidebar using the Custom Menu widget.
Regards,
Nat
Hi Nat, I do not have the same menu options as the picture you sent. My options include: Pages, Posts, Custom Links, and Categories. My “Categories” section is blank. I assume this is because the categories I created are Portfolio Categories not Post Categories?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteLet me know an access details (to your WP admin) through the contact form – http://themeforest.net/user/strictthemes I will take a look.

Nat
Hi,
ReplyDeleteDone. I’ve enabled category for projects in the Screen options on Menu page – http://dl1.joxi.net/drive/2016/09/15/0012/0377/807289/89/65695cfec5.jpg then created Custom menu and dropped Custom menu widget to the Homepage sidebar 1.

Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI am using the theme called Recital.
It uses the following custom post_type, category and taxonomy to define a portfolio homepage layout:
post_type=”st_project”
category=”st_category”
tag=”st_tag”
The URL is something like this:
/wp-admin/term.php?taxonomy=st_category&tag_ID=115&post_type=st_project…
I am trying to exclude a category called ‘wastelands’ which is the tag_ID ‘115’ from showing on the homepage. I have been trying the following code added to the functions.php but it is not working.
Please help…
Very best,
Hannah
<?php
function exclude_cat( $query ) {
if ( $query->is_home() && $query->is_main_query() ) {
if ( is_post_type( ‘st_project’ ) ) {
$tax_query = $query->get( ‘tax_query’ ) ?: array();
}
add_action(‘pre_get_posts’,’exclude_cat’);
$tax_query[] = array(
'taxonomy' => 'st_category',
'field' => 'slug',
'terms' => 'wastelands',
'operator' => 'NOT IN',
);
}
$query->set( 'tax_query', $tax_query );
}
return $query;
?>
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThe support of the theme assumes answering technical questions about item’s features.
Your question is about customization – https://themeforest.net/item/recital-portfolio-blog-for-creatives/6069248/support

are Recital not working with Envira Gallery plugin?
ReplyDelete?I have just installed the theme Recital on www.dorteboe.dk – but I cannot get it to work with the Envira Gallery plugin? If you click on f.ex Oil&Wax in the menu and click on the first painting – the arrows are missing and you cannot scroll through all the paintings?
I have activated the arrows in Envira.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThere are no special restrictions for using third-party scripts because the theme based on standard WP functions and loops. So I don’t think that might be reason for that. At the same time we provide a warranty of compatibility with third-party plugins listed on theme description page only.

Nat
I would like to be able to see the images underneath the rollover on the project template home page. Is the opacity level changeable, so i can see the text of the page as well as the picture underneath?
ReplyDeleteHi, I’m not sure if you are referring to this: https://cl.ly/1p0l2N3b1I2e
ReplyDeleteif you do, this would be the code:
.projects-t1-wrapper .st-hover .st-hover-bg
{
background: rgba(73,65,88,.8) !important;
}
.projects-t1-wrapper a.project-thumb:hover
{
background-position: center center;
}
and needs to be added via “Theme Panel -> Style -> Custom” https://cl.ly/1h3c1l312v3Y
Regards, Luis.
