GRUNT: A Big and Bold Mobile WordPress Theme
Grunt is the 6th mobile-focused WordPress theme from Bonfire Themes and – as with our previous offerings – can be set up as a secondary theme on your current WordPress installation and shown only to mobile visitors, or used on a brand new installation; whichever suits your situation.
While fresh and clean, Grunt can be used for many purposes; set up a straightforward blog, include an optional static front page, build portfolios, touch-enabled galleries, etc.
Also included is a unique comment form along with a validation-enabled contact form, highly customizable shortcodes, and so on.

ReplyDeletePre-sale question here! I’m a regular Wordpress developer, searching for a must-be-responsive theme for a new project. Really loved Bonfire’s themes and plugins, but never saw the term mobile-only theme, or secondary theme.
How does this technically work? I can select one theme for desktop (like a media query) and other theme only for tablets/mobile? Does this verification is made by some kind of user-agent code?

ReplyDeleteYou can give it a go by installing the Any Mobile Theme Switcher plugin (there are other ones out there as well but I find AMTS to be the best). With it, you can select any inactive theme to be displayed to mobile users.
Our mobile themes are designed with smaller screens and touch devices in mind, but other than that they’re themes like any other.

ReplyDeletePossible a small customization, now the menu header disappears when scrolling. Which is fine (saves space). It only re-appears when scrolling all the way back up. UX wise, this is a killer.
Is it possible that the menu header appears as soon as you make a scroll up movement?

Hi there. It’s possible but not by default. You’d have to get a freelancer to make that customization that for you. Or you can check out some of my other mobile themes that have fixed headers.

ReplyDeleteYes, and actually scratch my last; you can embed it in the featured image area as well. Just insert it via the “Shortcode” custom field (more on that in the documentation).
