This theme worked fine for me up to CS-Cart v.4.3.6. In v.4.3.8, I can’t view the left column in the theme editor (designs>>themes>>theme editor) and it’s giving me a server configuration error. “Error: Oops, something went wrong (Internal Server Error). Please try again.” I can’t see anything out of the ordinary with the server configuration, has anyone experienced this issue? I’m running PHP version 5.6.22. Thanks in advance

It appears that I’m not the only one who is having issues with 4.38. Even people from cs-cart wrote following: ” The issue is caused by a third-party theme used in your store. It seems that the theme is not adapted for CS-Cart 4.3.8.”

We have carefully analyzed 4.3.9 update and i must say that we aren’t able to process our theme update. Sarting from 4.3.8 cs-cart is not FREE CMS. So we will stop making updating for all nonFREE versions. I’m afraid that cs-cart has changed their policy and now they aren’t interested in the market of FREE CMS. In this case we aren’t able to support their new versions starting from 4.3.8.

Many cs-cart merchants are using non free version, and legal license holders. So what you are saying you will not support any future versions, because you cannot buy one license for development?

You’ve sold more than 400 copies of this theme, and I’m more than sure most of them are cs-cart license holders. I recently paid another $40 for your support hoping to get updating version. What do we do at this point? Your answer: “We don’t want to create/support theme for non Free CMS” is not good enough.

Now we should spent $385 and we don’t know how many users will need this. You spent $40 for support and we should spenf $385 for new license. Where is the profit?

Also the problem is that 4.3.8 and 4.3.9 are quite different from oldversions. Cs-cart integreated their own page builder and we need completely to remake architecture of our theme. It will require 2-3 monthes to make this job. So, we should invest $4-$6k to make this update. We aren’t sure that these money will be back with new sales after making cs-cart nonFREE. I think now not a lot of users will buy payed licenses. Do you understand our position? Hope for your understanding.

I do understand your position, but if you will not update your theme, this means the end of your product, and you will not sell any copies anymore. Your existing customers will not pay for support, as there is no point. But if you do update, you will get return on your investment, maybe not in a month or two, but long term for sure.

You guys misleading have the option in your demo of kidsland in this theme. One would assume that the buyer has that as a selection choice. However, you don’t supply those options or functionality. Don’t you think you need to remove that from the selection?

I don’t know if I can send you a screen shot through here, but here you make it seem as though these 4 skins come with your theme. But it does not come with all the four you mention to sell the product. Kidsland was not included and that’s the theme I wanted. I would have purchased it separately if I didn’t see that it showed it was included already. That is dishonest. I already paid for extra support renewal that was complete waste of money.
ReplyDeleteOur last update was on March 2016. Your support license was already expired more than 6 monthes ago. So, you’ ve got updates for theme during the lifetime of your license. I think this is wasn’t waste of your money and we fairly processed our obligations during our deal.
ReplyDeleteAgain, i’m sured that we will proceed update in the future. But i can’t say exactly when it will be. Unfortunately we don’t have enough investments to process the updates. Cs-cart has low sales. It is not popular among the customer. You are only one customer who is requesting update. We can’t invest 3k-4k in theme’s update to satisfy only your needs.

We also have a paid license and would like to update CS-Cart to the latest version. Also, most themes I know updates their theme within a few days after releasing CS-Cart 4.3.9+ so it shouldn’t take that much time to make the theme compatible in my opinion.
