Hello there, I wanted to set up a gallery page and I do not know how to use the template. Can you help me? I also would like to know the optimum size for images in full width and in gallery.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hello,

what gallery you want to setup? Grid (lightbox) or post slider?

    ReplyDelete
  9. WestonWestmorelandJuly 22, 2017 at 9:39 PM

You catch me there. I know there is a gallery template, but only because I saw it in the description, but couldn’t find any image. I want to create an image gallery where I can use the maximum width possible to display the panoramic images I upload to my blog. I Do not want a post slider. Just the wide setup screen to place my images one below another.
I have created a page, called it Gallery, used the full width template and I can add big images there, but I do not know if I can then link the small ones in the blog posts to the equivalent bigger ones in this new gallery, which should be full width and themselves also clickable towards the store.

  10. Hi, add images into post content directly (from Library using ‘Add Media’) and use this setting: http://prntscr.com/476g2s Images will be opened in lightbox

OK, I can do that, but what I wanted to do is a little more complicated. I will try to explain better. I add an image to one of my blog posts. Its maximum width is 725. I want to make it clickable so it redirects to the same image of a bigger size inside a Gallery page (using a full width page template inside the blog proper), and then I would make this 1500 image clickable to link to the store. I know how to do everything, except to connect the first image with the second. I do not know if it is feasible.

  12. ” redirects to the same image of a bigger size inside a Gallery page (using a full width page template inside the blog proper) “

??, sorry, I don’t understand. What is “bigger size inside a Gallery page”?

  13. WestonWestmorelandJuly 22, 2017 at 9:40 PM

My idea is to upload two versions of each image, one 725 px wide to insert in the blog and a 1500 px version for the gallery. That way, the blog will load faster and whoever wants to see the picture in a wider format just needs to click on the 725 picture on the blog to be redirected to the 1500 px image on the gallery. It is when you click the 1500 you will be redirected to the store.

  14. Hello,

I don’t think that this is possible… Yes, you can add 725 image into content but there is no way how to show 1500 on own page and link this image to some store. Unless you want to create new ‘page’ for every image.

Is there a way I can link an image to a word in another page or post of the blog? An internal link to a word instead of to another post title?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hello,

image can link to any URL: http://prntscr.com/48rd0h

I assume that you want to link to anchors: http://www.wendycholbi.com/anchor-links-jump-links/

  17. Hello Vergo,

First up the theme is great, I’ve been using it since November and have had loads of compliments about the site.

Problem I’m having at the minute is with the search functionality of the site. Basically it crashes the site every time it’s used regardless of browser?

    My site is http://fieldservicenews.com

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hello and thank you.

Search functionality and action is not theme related (it is core function). I recommend disabling your plugins – to find out which one causes your problems. It seems that this scrip causes problems: http://fieldservicenews.com/wp-content/plugins/cta/shared/assets/frontend/js/store.lead.ajax.js

  25. Hi Vergo,
First up thanks for your help previous – can’t remember if I logged back in to thank you – sorry if I forgot.

One quick question… my page views when viewing the site are showing up as way more (like 100x more) than the stats in wordpress. Any idea why this is?

    Cheers,

    Kris

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hello there,

what is the time interval of wordpress stats?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sorry not 100% sure what you mean – if the question is is there a delay between the stats appearing on the site and in the WP stats section then that’s not really the route of the problem.

Put it this way yesterday the views showing up on the actual site (as in if i just visited my site as a visitor and saw the views) were 1,476

in WP Stats it acknowledges only 167.

In fact according to WP stats my highest ever views in a day is 313 yet i’ve had content regularly hitting 1,000+ views in a day based on just looking at the site.

I appreciate that there is always going to be some variance between different analytics etc but these are so far out it’s driving me nuts!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hello, posts view counting is “all time” counting. You are maybe looking WP stats for specific time interval (e.g. month, week etc.)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks Vergo but that’s not it – as mentioned above this issue is happening within one day.

So using the example from above the post was made on Tuesday so at the start of Tuesday it is 0 as it has only just been posted. By the Wednesday morning the views are 1,476.

WP Stats shows the site only having 167 views for the same period of time i.e. One day previously.

This is like a 900% increase so something has to be wrong somewhere?

We will tweet quotes from our articles once every 15 minutes every hour (so 98 tweets a day) which does drive some traffic but only usually maybe appx 20 people click on those each day.

Is it something to do with the theme not filtering out bots or something that are coming across these links?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hello,

I don’t know now… I’m using this very solution: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-track-popular-posts-by-views-in-wordpress-without-a-plugin/ and I never heard ablout issues like these.

MAybe will be better to disable this feature: find and delete this code:
    <?php echo getPostViews(get_the_ID()); ?>
in ‘single-s-right.php’ and all ‘Home’ widget php files which are located in …functions\widgets folder.

    Thank you
