* First release.

hi!
ReplyDeleteIm about to buy this awesome theme but have some questions: 1. is it possible to use this theme as a portfolio? 2. Is it possible to create pages that list posts from just some categories?
thx!
Hi nadade,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your compliment
1. is it possible to use this theme as a portfolio?
> currently, Simplo do not have additional Portfolio post type, if that’s what you mean. You can use regular Posts as portfolio if you want. Or install an additional Portfolio plugin. But again, we couldn’t guarantee that it’ll work well with Simplo. For example, you’ll be required to create a custom template to show your Portfolio pages, etc.
2. Is it possible to create pages that list posts from just some categories?
> We have this page template http://demo.nesia.me/wp/simplo/archive-category/ to show list of Categories. But if this doesn’t suite you, you’ll need to custom the template by yourself.
Hope it explains.
Cheers!
I have the website: www.bijenkasteel.nl
ReplyDeleteand it does not show my Twitter feed only the @follow button.
What can i do?
Hi leavemymark,
ReplyDeletePlease update your Simplo to 1.0.2.
Currently your site is running Simplo 1.0.1
We have fixed this Twitter Widget issue in the latest version (1.0.2).
You can get it on your download page here at TF.
Cheers!
Could you please tell me which files have changed and are effected? I did some customs so i do not want to lose them.
ReplyDeleteHi leavemymark,
ReplyDeleteFor the Twitter Widget issue, you can try to replace these files:
includes/widgets/widget-nesia-twitter.php
js/script.js
style.css
But partial update is actually not recommended, since you might lose another feature update (we can’t list them all here).
If you want to customize the theme, it’s recommended to use child theme. So whenever the Parent Theme is updated, you won’t be bother to lose or re-apply your changes.
But of course, it’s up to you
Cheers!
cool thanks.
ReplyDeletehaving another problem of cannot inserting images in wysw editor. Can only paste via html img.
Hi leavemymark,
ReplyDeletePlease try to do following steps:
1) Have you tried it with the original Simplo theme (without the modification) ? Does it work?
2) Have you tried it with WordPress default theme (i.e. TwentyTwelve) ? Does it work?
Cheers!
Hey Guys,
ReplyDeleteGot the theme and love it.
! 1/2 questions.
I have changed the navigation colors as you said in an earlier questions that’s great. Now if i use the original theme it shows the icons
But:
if i use a child theme of it the icon’s don’t show up? I guess there is a command somewhere that is referenced to get_stylesheet_directory_uri() rather then get_template_directory_uri() that needs to be changed to get the icons in a child theme.
Any idea where this function is or how i get the icons in a child theme please?
Thank you in advanced for your help.
Figured it. Just did this in my functions file of the child theme:
ReplyDeleteadd_action( 'admin_print_styles-nav-menus.php', 'custom_icon_styles_child' );
function custom_icon_styles_child() {
wp_enqueue_style( 'custom-icon-styles_child', get_template_directory_uri() . '/css/custom-menu-icon.css' );
}
That replaces the function on line 34 of the original functions file.
Hi Henry,
ReplyDeleteYes, that’ll do it.
Glad to see you can solve it.
And thanks for sharing it here
Cheers!
Just another child theme question about the Favicon’s.
ReplyDeleteWhich function is the add the favicon and apple icons to head in? I would like to unregister the function or insert my own instead.
Many thanks in advance for helping me.
Hi Henry,
ReplyDeleteIf you’re looking for a way to upload a custom favicon, you can do it from the Theme Options. Here’s the screenshot: http://awesomescreenshot.com/05d1mdgx52
But if you’re indeed looking for the function, you can find it in functions/admin-setup.php file on line 164.
Look for nesia_output_custom_favicon() function.
Hope it helps.
Cheers!
Help’s a lot. Many thanks guys.
ReplyDeleteYou’re welcome, Henry.
ReplyDeleteIf you need another assistance, please post it on our Support Forum http://support.nesia.me
We’ll be waiting.
Cheers!
Hi there, I have 2 questions.
ReplyDelete1) Can I change the menu icons on the left to my own icons? and I’m able to point those links to anywhere I want right?
2) Does the theme support the bootstrap codes? I have many posts which I am using bootstrap layers, columns, Navbars, labels and many others. Would that be supported?
Thanks in advance.
Hi mojo4588,
ReplyDelete1) We’re using Font Awesome for the custom icons, so you can choose it from the pre-defined icons. And since this is Menu feature from WordPress, so yes, of course you can point those links to any URLs.
Here’s a screenshot: http://awesomescreenshot.com/01c1n8vxe4
2) This theme was built on top of Twitter Bootstrap framework. Not really get with what you mean, but if you’re also use bootstrap style on your posts, then it might require a bit adjustment so it won’t conflict with the CSS selector from the theme. We can’t guarantee that this won’t be complicated, though.
Hope this answers your questions.
Cheers!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome theme and has everything that I want.
Just that I like to code my own blog/websites. Is there an HTML version of this that I can purchase? I read in one of your earlier comments that it was ongoing submission… but I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
Hi aniquez,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your compliment.
Yes, we’re planning to release a HTML version of this theme.
Currently we’re still preparing it along with required PSD files to be released with it.
We’ll let you know as soon as we release this HTML.
Thanks for your inquiry.
Cheers!
This looks the perfect theme to move my old Blogger blog over to. One question – I have 9 years worth of archives and wondered whether I can display them first by year then drop-down and/or link through to the months. Otherwise I will have a very messy page showing all the months from the last 9 years.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help.
Hi lostbyway,
ReplyDeleteAt the moment, Simplo only providing these 3 page templates:
http://demo.nesia.me/wp/simplo/archive-monthly/
http://demo.nesia.me/wp/simplo/archive-category/
http://demo.nesia.me/wp/simplo/archive-tags/
The one you’re asking above will need some modification to those templates (or maybe create a new one) and we can’t provide that.
You can modify this theme by yourself, of course, if you’d like.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Hello!
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of buying this one but I have a doubt.
I really like the left bar navigation and instead of having the sub categories menus, can I put all the categories in the side bar and take out the subcategories?
Thanks in advance.
Ana
Hi Ana,
ReplyDeleteNot really sure with what you mean, but the left bar navigation is using WordPress Menu feature. So basically, you can put any links on it, including categories (or sub categories).
Here’s a screenshot of the Menu Admin: http://awesomescreenshot.com/01d1on706b
and you can see the result at our demo page: http://demo.nesia.me/wp/simplo/
If however, this is not what you mean, please provide us some details (or screenshots are even better) to describe your intent.
Cheers!
Hi yes you replied to part of it I would also like to take out the subcategories that appear on the page bellow the logo. Ex:
ReplyDeleteSample categories
aciform
sub
antiquarianism
arrangement
asmodeus
Blogroll
broder
buying
championship
dispatch
personable
scholarship
selfconvicted
Uncategorized
Hi Ana,
ReplyDeleteOh so you mean the sidebar area?
For the “Sample Categories” in the demo, we are using default Category Widget from WordPress, and currently WordPress do not have option to exclude its subcategories for being shown together with their parents. (for e.g. you just want to show ‘aciform’, but don’t want to show ‘sub’, currently WordPress default Category Widget do not have this capability).
But if you do not need this widget, you can also remove it completely from the sidebar.
And if you do want to remove the sidebar area completely, then you’ll have to modify the page template, since by default this area is already there.
Still not sure if this answers your question.
But then again, if you still have some questions, just hit us again
Cheers!
Thanks for your reply, does the template integrate well with BuddyPress and WooCommerce?
ReplyDeleteHi Ana,
ReplyDeleteSimplo is not ready for WooCommerce and BuddyPress.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteNesia Shortcodes are not working correctly with the latest Wordpress version (3.9.1). There is no MCE button to insert the shortcodes. I think the problem is related to MCE 4.
Can this be fixed?
Regards.
Hi, are you still providing support for this theme?
ReplyDeleteI just posted an issue on your support page but then I realised there were a other posts/questions without any answer.
Can you help me to solve this issue? I am having blank pages after clicking on any tag or category link. How can I fix this? Here is the link for your reference: http://learningservice.info/library/category/activism/ Thanks,
